Terms of Use

Last updated: 28 October 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Wedding Website Co, including our website, wedding website builder, planning tools and related services (the “Service”). The Service is operated by Charis Events Pty Ltd ABN 25 701 994 505 (we, us or our).

By creating an account, clicking to accept these Terms, purchasing a plan or using Wedding Website Co, you agree to these Terms.

You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of another person or organisation, you warrant that you have authority to bind that person or organisation to these Terms.

1. About Wedding Website Co

Wedding Website Co provides tools that enable couples to create, manage and publish wedding websites and access related wedding planning, guest management, design and other features.

Some features are available without charge and others require payment.

2. Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate account information and maintaining the security of your account credentials.

You are responsible for activity occurring through your account, except to the extent caused by our breach of these Terms, negligence or failure to take reasonable security measures.

You must notify us promptly at hello@weddingwebsiteco.com if you become aware of unauthorised access to or use of your account.

You must not use another person's account without permission.

3. Using Wedding Website Co

You may use Wedding Website Co for lawful personal wedding-related purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You must not:

  • use the service unlawfully or fraudulently;
  • interfere with the security or operation of the service;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or data;
  • circumvent security or access controls;
  • scrape, probe or test the service without permission;
  • impersonate another person;
  • introduce malicious code or use the service to distribute harmful material;
  • scrape, copy or systematically extract the service except as permitted by law;
  • use the service to harass, threaten, defame or unlawfully discriminate against another person;
  • use the service to infringe another person's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
  • upload unlawful, defamatory or otherwise prohibited material; or
  • use the service in a manner that materially interferes with another person's use of Wedding Website Co.

We may take reasonable action to protect Wedding Website Co, our users and third parties where these requirements are breached.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of content you upload or create through Wedding Website Co, subject to any rights belonging to other people.

You grant Wedding Website Co a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt where technically necessary, transmit and display your content to the extent reasonably necessary to provide, secure and operate the service and the features you choose to use. This licence continues only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service or comply with our lawful retention obligations.

This licence does not transfer ownership of your content to us.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights, permissions and consents to upload, publish or otherwise use your content, including photographs, videos, music, written material and personal information relating to other people.

You must not upload content containing sensitive or confidential information about another person unless that person has consented or you are otherwise legally authorised to do so.

We may remove or restrict access to content where we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms or applicable law. Where practicable and lawful, we will notify you and provide a reasonable opportunity to respond.

5. Wedding websites and guests

You control the content you choose to publish through your wedding website.

Wedding websites are intended to be shared. You are responsible for deciding what information is appropriate to make available to your guests or others with access to your site. A link does not provide complete security or confidentiality. Where privacy controls are available, you are responsible for selecting settings appropriate for your content.

Where you provide information about guests, you must only provide information that you are entitled to provide and that is reasonably appropriate for your use of the service.

You must provide guests with any privacy information or notices reasonably required in connection with your collection and use of their information. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information received through the Service.

Guests who submit information through RSVP or other features must provide information honestly and must not misuse the service.

6. Plans, pricing and payments

Wedding Website Co may offer free and paid plans with different features, usage limits and included hosting periods.

Current prices and inclusions are displayed before purchase. Prices may vary by region or currency. Unless stated otherwise, prices include GST where GST is applicable.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, paid Wedding Website Co plans are one-time purchases rather than recurring subscriptions.

Payment is processed through our third-party payment provider.

We may change prices or plan inclusions for future purchases. A change to future pricing does not retrospectively alter a completed purchase except where expressly agreed with you or permitted by law.

If an obvious pricing error is identified before the relevant service is supplied, we may cancel the transaction and provide a full refund or offer you the opportunity to purchase at the correct price.

Any founding, promotional or introductory pricing may be limited in availability and subject to the conditions displayed at the time of purchase.

7. Hosting periods and extensions

The included public hosting period depends on the plan:

  • Free — 3 months;
  • Plus — 12 months; and
  • Signature — 24 months,

measured from the applicable hosting recognised date for the wedding. The applicable hosting recognised date is the couple's wedding date as entered at the time the wedding website is first made publicly visible. Where the wedding date is subsequently changed, the recognised date is recalculated from the updated wedding date, subject to a cap of 18 months after the original wedding date at first publication.

Where Wedding Website Co offers a hosting extension, the extension is an optional one-time purchase that adds 12 months of public hosting to the applicable wedding website.

A hosting extension is not a subscription. It does not automatically renew and does not create recurring billing.

The price of an extension may vary by market or currency. The applicable price will be displayed before purchase.

Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, the extension affects the hosting period of the applicable wedding website and does not create an ongoing subscription or entitlement beyond that extended period.

We will use reasonable efforts to notify the account holder before expiry, but failure to receive a reminder does not extend the hosting period.

When the applicable hosting period expires, the wedding website will cease to be publicly available in accordance with Wedding Website Co's hosting rules.

Wedding Website Co currently retains the associated workspace and data for 12 months following hosting expiry. Public hosting expiry does not itself automatically delete the workspace or associated data.

You are responsible for exporting any content you wish to retain before the end of the applicable retention period. We will delete or de-identify retained content after that period, subject to our Privacy Policy and any longer period required for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes.

8. Refunds and Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For a major failure with a service, you are entitled to cancel the service contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion, or compensation for its reduced value. You may also be entitled to compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure is not major, you are entitled to have the failure remedied within a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel the contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion.

Any voluntary refund policy offered by Wedding Website Co operates in addition to, and does not replace or limit, rights you may have under applicable law.

9. AI-powered features

Wedding Website Co may provide AI-powered planning, design, writing or other assistance. These features may be provided with the assistance of third-party AI service providers.

AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, unsuitable or similar to material generated for other users.

You are responsible for reviewing an AI-generated output before relying on, publishing or acting on it.

AI outputs are provided as assistance and do not constitute professional legal, financial, medical or other professional advice.

You must not submit personal information, confidential information or third-party material to an AI-powered feature unless you have authority to do so. Our handling of information submitted to those features is described in our Privacy Policy.

We do not guarantee that AI-generated output will be unique or suitable for any particular purpose.

10. Registry and gift features

Wedding Website Co may provide tools that allow couples to display gift, registry or contribution information.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Wedding Website Co is not a bank, financial institution or custodian and does not itself hold gift funds on behalf of couples or guests.

Payments, transfers or other financial services provided by third parties are subject to the relevant third party's terms, availability and processing requirements. We are not responsible for a third party's acts or omissions, but this does not exclude responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, including responsibility for services supplied by us.

11. Third-party services

Wedding Website Co may integrate with, link to or rely on third-party services.

Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.

We may change or discontinue an integration if the third-party service becomes unavailable, changes its requirements or presents a legal, operational or security risk. If this materially reduces the core functionality of a paid service during its stated term, clause 13 applies.

We are not responsible for third-party services to the extent permitted by law, but nothing in this section limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Our intellectual property

Wedding Website Co and its underlying software, branding, logos, designs, platform interfaces and other materials owned by us are protected by intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service and included designs for their intended purpose in connection with your wedding website during the applicable hosting period. You must not copy, resell, reverse engineer or commercially exploit the platform except where permitted by law or with our written permission.

Your right to use Wedding Website Co does not transfer ownership of our platform or intellectual property to you.

13. Availability and changes

We aim to provide a reliable service, but online services may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, third-party outages, security events or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may modify, improve or discontinue features from time to time.

We will not materially reduce the core functionality of a paid plan during its stated service period unless reasonably necessary for legal, security or technical reasons outside our reasonable control. Where a change materially disadvantages you, we will give reasonable notice where practicable and provide an appropriate remedy, which may include an alternative feature, pro-rata refund or right to terminate, subject to the Australian Consumer Law.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary because:

  • you materially breach these Terms;
  • use of the service creates a security or legal risk;
  • we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse or unlawful activity; or
  • suspension is necessary to protect users, third parties or the operation of Wedding Website Co.

Except where urgent action is reasonably required, we will give you notice of the reason for suspension and a reasonable opportunity to remedy a remediable breach. A suspension will be proportionate to the relevant risk or breach.

You may stop using Wedding Website Co at any time. You may request closure of your account by contacting us at hello@weddingwebsiteco.com.

On termination or expiry, your right to use the Service ends. Clauses concerning intellectual property, liability, accrued payment obligations, dispute resolution and lawful data retention survive termination to the extent necessary to give them effect.

15. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wedding Website Co does not guarantee that:

  • the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free;
  • every feature will be available at all times;
  • content or AI-generated outputs will be accurate or suitable for every purpose; or
  • third-party services will remain available.

Nothing in this clause excludes any guarantee, representation or other obligation that cannot lawfully be excluded.

16. Liability

Neither party is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when these Terms were accepted.

We are not liable to the extent loss is caused by:

  • your breach of these Terms, unlawful conduct or failure to take reasonable steps to protect your account;
  • content supplied or published by you or another user;
  • a third-party service outside our reasonable control; or
  • an event outside our reasonable control,

except to the extent the loss was caused or contributed to by our breach, negligence or wilful misconduct.

Where the Australian Consumer Law permits liability for failure to comply with a consumer guarantee to be limited, our liability is limited, at our option, to supplying the services again or paying the reasonable cost of having the services supplied again. This limitation does not apply where it would be unfair or unlawful, or where the relevant services are ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the service, our practices or applicable requirements. Changes will apply prospectively from the stated effective date.

We will give reasonable advance notice of a material change that is likely to disadvantage users, unless the change is urgently required by law or for security reasons. A change will not retrospectively alter a completed purchase or materially reduce a paid service during its stated term except as permitted by clause 13.

The current Terms and their effective date will be available on our website.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

You and Wedding Website Co submit to the courts having jurisdiction in New South Wales and any courts entitled to hear appeals from them, subject to any rights you have under applicable consumer law that cannot lawfully be restricted.

19. Contact

You can contact Wedding Website Co at hello@weddingwebsiteco.com or using the contact details made available through our website.

20. Disputes

In the event of any dispute arising from, or in connection with, these Terms, the party claiming there is a dispute must give written notice to the other party setting out the details of the dispute and proposing a resolution.

Within 7 days after receiving the notice, the parties must make a reasonable attempt to resolve the dispute or agree on the method of resolving the dispute by other means, in good faith.

If the parties do not resolve the dispute or agree on an alternate method to resolve the dispute within 21 days after receipt of the notice, the dispute may be referred by either party (by notice in writing to the other party) to litigation.

Nothing in this clause prevents a party from seeking urgent injunctive or other interlocutory relief, or limits any right or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law that cannot lawfully be restricted.

21. Severance

If a provision of these Terms is held to be void, invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision must be read down as narrowly as necessary to allow it to be valid or enforceable. If it is not possible to read down a provision (in whole or in part), that provision (or that part of that provision) is severed from these Terms without affecting the validity or enforceability of the remainder of that provision or the other provisions in these Terms.
